Brief

Microsoft wanted to create a series of human-centred brand stories across Asia that showed how its technology and inclusive practices were making a difference in people’s lives.

To do this well, the project needed more than strong editorial interviews. It also required thoughtful corporate photography that could make each story feel personal, authentic and visually distinctive.

RESPONSE

This was an editorial storytelling project in which photography played a crucial role in making the stories feel human, credible and visually distinctive, while creating subtle branded content.

Each story featured a different individual, with a different background, environment and lived experience. That meant the visual approach needed to be flexible and considered.

The photographs had to do more than document the interview subject. It needed to support the narrative, capture personality and give readers an immediate sense of connection.

Without that visual depth, the stories risked feeling flat or interchangeable.

PROCESS &
COLLABORATION

We combined the editorial aspect of the campaign with portrait-led photography

Alongside the interviews, we produced images that reflected each person’s character, setting and presence.

This helped the final pieces feel more grounded and human, while giving every story its own visual identity.

By treating corporate photography as part of the storytelling process rather than a supporting add-on, we created a body of work in which the words and images strengthened each other.

The result was branded editorial content that felt warm, credible and real.

OUTCOME

The finished series helped Microsoft Asia tell these stories in a more engaging and human way. The photography played an important role in that outcome, making each profile more immediate, memorable and emotionally resonant.

For Microsoft, the work demonstrated how editorial photography and portrait photography can strengthen branded storytelling. For us, it showed how a thoughtful photography approach can help corporate stories feel more authentic, distinctive and audience-focused.
